A Community To Call Home In Hobsonville Point

The Home Hunt

Michael and Laura had heard of Universal and talked to people who had purchased a Universal Home in Hobsonville, and were really happy with their decision. Michael and Laura were also surprised how everyone they spoke to about Hobsonville Point said it had a great sense of community and belonging. With this in mind, they popped into Universal’s Hobsonville Point show home one weekend to get a better idea of what their future home could look like.

The service they received from their New Home Consultant, Maryanne, was a strong driver in Michael and Laura purchasing their Universal home. Impressed by Maryanne’s perception and willingness to listen and understand their needs helped them explore the many options available to them. When comparing buying an existing home needing renovation work to a brand new home, the Howards were pleasantly surprised at just how much house they could get for the same budget.

Maryanne took them through several properties that suited their needs until they found ‘the one’. Michael and Laura were really impressed with the quality workmanship and considered design that went into their new Universal home, and with how spacious the home was. All three bedrooms were of a decent size giving the kids room to play and grow, and office nook in the master bedroom is the perfect spot for working from home.

The excessive storage, proximity to motorways, rainwater collection for non-potable use, and double glazing, post-purchase maintenance and support were also very welcome upgrades to buying in the secondhand housing market. Even though moving into a bigger house, their electricity bill has reduced too!

The buying process

Preparing to battle out with other prospective buyers, they were happy that they only needed a small refundable deposit to secure the property while taking their time to secure finance and complete due diligence. There was no competing with packed auction rooms watching their dream home get snapped up for tens of thousands of dollars more than expected. With Universal Homes, the price was transparent and upfront from the beginning.

The Universal difference

A professional, friendly, longstanding company with a solid reputation, plus the peace of mind of a ten Year Master Build Guarantee on their home, all combined to make buying a Universal Home an easy decision for Michael and Laura.

“We couldn’t be happier with our new home. The kids love it. We love it. Our family does too which is always a bonus! Enjoying meeting the neighbours and being part of a close-knit community as well.”
